Life is often hectic and demanding (see: last year). We’ve got obligations to our job, our family, our friends, society, etc. But in order to fulfill those obligations, we’ve also got to look out for ourselves. And that’s why relaxing is incredibly important. It gives us the energy and mindset we need to be productive.
A hot bath. Yep. We want you to take at least 30 minutes (bonus points if you take more) out of your day to unplug from the world. No phones, no laptops, just the bath and you. Feel free to meditate or just unwind with your thoughts.
Hot baths can improve your mood, relieve tension and even burn calories. Challenge yourself to take one once a week. Pencil it in if you have to!
What goes well with a bath? Some tea, of course.
1 to 2 cups of boiling water
1 bag of chamomile tea
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 slice lemon
1 teaspoon of honey
1 sprig of rosemary (optional — to spice things up!)
- Mix boiling water, tea bag, ginger, lemon, honey and rosemary together in a large glass bowl.
- Steep, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes.
- Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on the tea bag to get as much liquid out as possible.
- Sip and chiiilllllllll.
